New Florida Media is an independent source of community news whose mission is to offer a fresh, trusted perspective on the news and events that have an impact on our community.
We believe that a new grassroots journalism that keeps residents informed, connected and aware of what’s happening in their hometown and local government supports a strong community.
We plan to cover stories that matter to everyday people and will share those stories by subscribing to a standard of integrity and excellence as exemplified in the following pillars:
Accuracy. We will endeavor to be accurate in fact and context when reporting the news. We recognize that even the best of sources and documentation can change or be flawed. When clarifications are needed, we will do our best to address them.
Editorial Independence. New Florida Media is made possible through voluntary contributions. While we accept gifts, grants and sponsorships from individuals and organizations for the support of our multimedia news organization, our news judgments are made independently. We may consider donations to support coverage of certain topics. However, we will maintain final word on the editorial content and do not approve of any unauthorized endorsements. Sponsors have the option of requesting acknowledgement in our publications or having their contribution remain anonymous.
Social Media Policy. One of the missions of our organization is to engage the public, and we welcome ideas for stories. News tips and suggestions can be sent to tips@newfloridaliving.com.
New Florida Media content aims to be family-friendly and positive. We will not tolerate comments that are obscene, profane, threaten violence or illegal acts, promote spam or commercial advertisements (unless approved in writing by New Florida Media’s editorial staff). We further prohibit unauthorized personally identifying private information (known as doxxing). New Florida Media does not approve of hate speech, trade secrets, malicious statements, false statements or harassment. We maintain the right to hide or delete comments we deem inappropriate and to block users who do not use this platform appropriately.
