Clermont City Council Candidates Announced

On Friday, June 12, the following candidates qualified to run for Clermont City Council:

Seat 1: Alison Strange

Seat 3 (mayor): Joe Fumasi and Tim Murry

Seat 5: Michael Gonzalez and William "Bill" Petersen

Meet your candidates here!

Since Alison Strange was unopposed, she will be returning to Seat 1 without an election. Strange has been an outspoken proponent of conservative fiscal policies and for a thoughtful, innovative future comp plan.

Joe Fumasi has been a frequent presence at city council meetings.

Tim Murry is the incumbent. He recently objected to Clermont's participation in the America250 celebration honoring the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Michael Gonzalez is a former council member.

William "Bill" Petersen is the incumbent. He was featured previously in New Florida Media. He has advocated for conservative fiscal policies and for the need for more ambulance service for city residents to reduce emergency response times.

Clermont City Council seats are considered nonpartisan races.
