Two downtown Clermont businesses are celebrating big milestones. The Sunshine Book Co., a family-owned, independent bookstore at 647 Lake Ave., is celebrating its five-year anniversary. Just a block away, Dash Sports, home to Central Florida’s largest selection of running and walking shoes, held a ribbon-cutting party marking the store’s 20th anniversary.

• The store is owned and operated by Beth and Todd Merrick.

• The Merricks have worked at Walt Disney World in addition to running the charming bookstore.

• The shop has a wide selection of books, including current bestsellers and a section devoted to Clermont and Florida history.

• One of the few places in town where you can find Clermont-labeled gifts.

• There’s a special room with children’s literature.

• The shop is in a historic home built in 1915.

• The store is located at 741 W. Montrose St.

• Owner Kimberly Grogan is also a triathlete.

• The shop had its beginnings at the National Training Center before moving to downtown.

• In addition to premier races, Grogan features social runs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
